Cambios de dirección estructurada ISO 20022
BOK Financial effective date: Nov. 14, 2026
Who is affected: Anyone who sends wire payments
Required action: Review and update beneficiary address information
The Federal Reserve recently announced an extension to the industry enforcement timeline for ISO 20022 structured address requirements. Despite this change, BOK Financial will move forward with its planned implementation on November 14, 2026, for impacted wire services. Continuing on our established timeline enables clients to prepare with confidence, supports industry modernization efforts, and helps minimize operational and payment processing risks. We strongly encourage you to continue your remediation efforts and update beneficiary information as soon as possible to help ensure a seamless transition and avoid potential wire processing disruptions.
Action required for wire payment users
As part of the financial industry's transition to ISO 20022, all wire payments will be required to use structured address data. A structured address is an address that is broken into separate, standardized data fields rather than being entered as a single free-form text field.
If you send wire payments, you should review and update your wire templates, beneficiary records, files and payment processes by November 14, 2026. Failure to update required beneficiary information could result in delayed or rejected wire payments.
¿Por qué está cambiando esto?
The financial industry is transitioning from free-form address fields to structured address data to enhance payment accuracy, increase automation, improve transparency, and strengthen compliance
screening. While broader industry implementation timelines have been extended, BOK Financial is moving forward with its planned implementation date of November 14, 2026, to enhance straight through processing, support compliance and screening requirements, improve payment data quality, and align with evolving industry standards.

What do we need to do?
The actions you need to take depend on how you submit wire payments. Review the sections below and update the applicable wire templates, beneficiary records, files or messaging formats you use before November 14, 2026. Si ya está utilizando información de dirección totalmente estructurada, no es necesario realizar cambios.

NOTE: these field names apply specifically to Exchange customers. All wire transfers must include complete beneficiary address information.

¿Qué ocurre si no realiza estas actualizaciones?
If beneficiary information is not updated to include the required structured address information by November, the impact can range from operational inefficiencies to delayed or returned payments by BOK Financial payment systems. Missing structured address data can trigger payment exceptions, investigations, or requests for additional information. These activities increase operational costs and can delay funds reaching the beneficiary, so updating your wire templates.
